ALE / Loss of Use Housing in Indianapolis
If a home is temporarily unlivable, ALE (Additional Living Expense) / loss-of-use housing should be move-in ready and predictable. Our Whitestown furnished home supports 30+ day stays with utilities & WiFi included.
Common ALE Placement Needs
- • Family-friendly layout with multiple bedrooms
- • Full kitchen + in-home laundry
- • Utilities and WiFi included (budget clarity)
- • Pet-friendly options
- • Easy extensions when timelines change
When a policyholder's home is unlivable, the housing that works is a whole house rather than a hotel suite: separate bedrooms for the family, a real kitchen so meals are not a daily expense line, laundry on site, and terms that stretch when the repair timeline does. Our Whitestown home does that for stays of 30 days or more, with utilities and WiFi included so the monthly figure stays predictable.
How it works
- 01
Send the placement
Headcount, start date, expected duration and any pets or accessibility needs. That is enough for us to confirm whether the home fits.
- 02
We confirm availability
You deal with the owners directly rather than a management company, so an answer comes back quickly instead of going through a queue.
- 03
Paperwork and billing
We invoice the carrier or employer rather than the family where that suits, and provide a W-9 and certificate of insurance on request.
- 04
Extensions
Repair timelines move. The agreement runs month to month after the first 30 days, so extending is a conversation rather than a new placement.
Frequently asked questions
- Why a house rather than an extended-stay hotel?
- A displaced family is living somewhere for months, not nights. Separate bedrooms, a full kitchen, a fenced backyard and in-home laundry make that survivable in a way a suite does not — and a whole house is often cheaper than several hotel rooms.
- Can you invoice a company or carrier?
- Yes. We can invoice an employer, agency or carrier rather than billing the occupant, and provide a W-9 and certificate of insurance on request.
- What is the minimum stay, and how do extensions work?
- Thirty days minimum, month to month after that. Extensions are common and straightforward — tell us as soon as you know and we will hold the dates.
- Are pets allowed?
- Yes, with a $250 pet cleaning fee. Any pet-related damage is billed accordingly.
- How many people does the home sleep?
- Four to five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. It fits 8 people comfortably and we can make space for up to 10.
- What is included in the rate?
- Furnishings and linens, a fully equipped kitchen with a large pantry, in-home washer and dryer, WiFi and utilities up to a reasonable household usage limit, and parking — a 2-car garage plus driveway, with no permit to arrange.
